For our May meeting we invited Barbara Collins along with her demonstration titled ‘Spring into Summer’. Barbara told us how she has now been flower arranging for 20 years and was a past Chairman of East of England Area of NAFAS. Barbara made some lovely arrangements and gave us tips and information on all the flowers and foliage she used. Barbara is very knowledgeable and a hard working lady.
We held a competition for members with the same title and Barbara kindly judged it for us. In the Novice Class Jenny Frosdick scored 9 out of 10. Jean Madgett in the Intermediate Class scored 8 out of 10 and in the Advanced Class, Tricia Loades scored 9 out of 10 and Penny Mills, 8 out of 10.
We had someone attend the meeting who had found one of the tickets on the arrangement put out in Ashby St Mary to attend a free meeting, on National Flower Arranging Day.
