On 6th May we took park in National Flower Arranging Day. This is a day when members of local flower clubs make arrangements and leave them for the public to find and take home. Partly as a good will gesture and partly to advertise their clubs in the area. A card is attached to the arrangements saying “Take me Home” and on the reverse of the card is a note with details of when we meet and also to say that the card will act as a free ticket to attend one of our flower arranging demonstrations. There were a total of 16 arrangements placed around the villages of Ashby St Mary, Bramerton, Chedgrave, Claxton, Kirby Bedon, Loddon, Poringland, Rockland St Mary Seething and Thurton. Let’s hope that we will generate some members from the day.

Our Treasurer, Penny, placed an arrangement at Rockland St Mary shop and before she could put it on the post box, a lady came along and asked her what she was doing. So, she told her and she took the arrangement and gave her a £10 donation and said it had brightened up her day. One of the arrangements from Loddon Staithe was taken by a member of Loddon Wi, who took it to a lady who is housebound with Parkinson’s. So, hopefully these arrangements made someone else smile. We had some lovely comments on Facebook.
