We invited ladies from Bungay Flower Club to come to our November meeting to arrange flowers for us. Their Chairman, Mu Gurbutt and their Secretary, Sheila Cooper came along and made some arrangements to their title of ‘How Flower Arranging has Changed’. Mu told us of her journey in flower arranging from starting at the age of ten when her mother would ‘plonk’ flowers in a vase, then using pin holders, floral foam and then coming back full circle to today. Plus how she competed in Chelsea Flower Show. Sheila also helped with the arranging while Mu talked to us.
Some of our members have been along to Bungay to demonstrate and we have arranged flowers at our respective flower festivals to help keep our club’s going. It was a very enjoyable evening with lots of flower arrangements to be won at the end of the evening.
Also at this meeting Gillian Balls was presented with her 25-year badge by our President, Diane Blyth.
